FOXTON NOTES

At the last meeting of the Wanganui Education Board a suggestion was made that Moutoa School be done away with and the children conveyed daily to the Foxton School, a distance of about eight miles. As a result a protest meeting was held at Moutoa on Monday uight, which was presided over by Mr. Gregory and attended by about forty householders. A motion was carried by a three to one majority that the school be kept open. Whitebait lias been fairly scarce in the Manawatu River this, season.
