HAMILTON TO AUCKLAND. By Telegraph.- i' iiess association Auckland, October J. Tho cyclo road race from Hamilton to Auckland, about &0 miles, carrying with it tho Dunlop North Island cycle road championship, was won by J. Henderson (Auckland), 12min.; W. Brewster (New Plymouth), scr., being second, and W. Francis (Auckland), 17min., third. There were 23 starters. The fastest time was recorded by Brewster, 4hrs. 34min. 34 sec., off scratch. He finished 300 yards behind Henderson. E. Breckon, of Hamilton, who will be 70 years of age next week, competed in tho race on a handicap, completing the course in Shrs. 33min. GEELONG 50-MILE RACE (Rec. October 2, 5.5 p.m.) Melbourne, October 2. The Geelong fifty miles open cycle race, known as Little Warrnambool, resulted: W. Veitch (Victoria), 1; A. Oram (Victoria), 2; F. Arklay (Victoria), 3 Won by a length, in 2 hours 48min. 20sec. The fastest time was secured by JI. Moody (New South Wales—2 hours 45min. 2-lsec. BRITISH MOTORING GRAND PRIX (Rec. October 2, 5.5 p.m.) London, October J:. At Brookkinds, in rain and a half gale, the British Motoring Grand Prix, over 125 laps, equal to 327 miles, was held. Eleven started, nine French and two British. The event was won by the Frenchman, Benoist, driving a Delage. His average speed was 85.59 miles an hour. Both the British competitors, driving Thomas Specials, retired before half way. Benoist now holds tho Grand Prix of Italy, France, Spain and Britain.
