CRICKET
SEASON OPENED IN SYDNEY. (Ttec. October 2, 5.5 p.m.) Sydney, October 2. The grade cricket season opened yesterday in fine weather, but with tricky wickets, owing to overnight rain. For Mauriceville against Northern District, A. CaTlitw.ay made 72. Bowling for North Sydney against Balmain, R. Henry took four wickets for 20; for Randwick against Wnverley F. Merchant took five for 34: for Glebe against Western Suburbs F. Alain took four for 18; and F. Jordan, four for 20.
