SCHOOL ATTENDANCE
1 FIGURES FOR WELLINGTON DISTRICT School attendance figures in the Welffington Education Board’s district for the first two quarters of the current year indicate an increase in the roll numbers, but a small decrease in the average daily attendance when compared With the corresponding quarters of 1926. The drop in the daily average is attributed to prevalence of epidemic among school children, particularly in- . fluenza and mumps. During the March quarter of this year there was an average roll number of 13,901 boys and 12,923 girls, making a total of 26,824, while the daily average attendance was 1’2,700 boys and 11,// 6 girls. iTlie average roll number for the June quarter totalled 27,316, consisting of 14,158 boys and 13,158 girls, the dailv average being 12,688 boys and 11,613 girls. For the March quarter of last year the average roll number was 13,740 boys and 12,673 girls, a dailv average of 12,856 boys and 11,791 'girls. In the June quarter of last year the average roll number was 13,951 boys and 12,840 girls, and the daily average was 12,661 boys and 11,557 girls.
