DROUGHT IN RIVERINA
GREAT EXODUS OF STOCK
Sydney, September 14. Owing to the severe drought in the Riverina district it is estimated that a hundred thousand sheep will be transported across the border to Victoria within a month. Already a great exodus has begun, twenty-five thousand sheep being on the move, one owner alone shifting seventeen thousand. Pastoralists have already lost heavily in Southern Riverina. Less than four inches of rain have fallen this season.
