WHITE STAR TOURIST SERVICES
ANNUAL MEETING. Dominion Special Service. Nelson, September 11. Delegates from all parts of the Dominion attended the annual meeting to-day of the White Star tourist services. Mr R. L. Wigley (president) was in the cjiair. Prior to the commencement of the business, a welcome was extended to the visitors by the Mayor (Mr. W JMoffatt). As a result of a discussion on publicity, it was rdsolved to accept bookings’ only through Government tourist bureaux and Thomas Cook and Sons, and cut out all the minor agencies. It was felt at the same time that there were anomalies in carrying out the existing arrangements, and it was resolved to wait on the head of the Department st Wellington in order to get the anomalies rectified. It was stated that the scheme of insurance with the State Office had been an unqualified success, the premiums amounting roudily to £3OOO per annum. As a result of deputations to Ministers, legislation would be brought down bearing on the svsteni of licensing of services, uniformity of legislation and taxation. .
