E. Maunsell, S.M.: There may have been a good reason for it. Mr. Leicester: Thera was none at all and my client is still in custody. The "Magistrate: Bring him in so we can see what he is like (Laughter) “Oh, well, I must say he looks all right,” said the Magistrate, amidst more laughter, as the accused, a welldressed young man. entered the dock and made a sweeping bow to the Bench. .The Magistrate: When Mr. Riddell issued the warrant he must have had good reason to do so. Mr. Leicester: He would only have what the wife said to go upon. Mr. Maunsell: That’s so. Are you prepared to go on with the case now ? Mr. Leicester: I would like it adjourned until Thursday so I can look into the matter further. Mr. Maunsell: As I understand these cases are heard privately you may make your application to another Magistrate It was later stated that the accused had been released until Friday next after being examined by two doctors. On that date he will again appear in Court and plead not guilty to the charge laid against him by his wife.
