Notice is hereby given that at a Special Meeting of the Wellington Citv Council held on THURSDAY, JULY 7, 1927, the following resolution was passed:— The Wellington City Council hereby makes by Special Order the following By-law in pursuance and exercise of tho authorities and powers vested in it in that behalf by the Provisions of "The Municipal'Corporations Act, 1920, “The Wellington City Empowering and Amendment Act, 1922,” and “The Wellington Cify Empowering Act, 1926, and their Amendments, and in pursuance and exercise of all other powers and authorities 1 (if any) enabling it in that behalf. . The short title of this By-law is “The Wellington City Building Line By-law No. 55, 1927.” , t . The object and purport of the By-law 1. To prevent the erection of buildings as follows:— (1) On the eastern side of Willis Street Street between Manners Street and Webb Street within 60ft. of the western side of Willis Street. (°) On the southern side of Manners Street between Willis Street and Dixon Street within 70ft. -of the northern side of Manners Street. (3) On tho western side of Thorndon Quay between Sydney Street and Tinakori Road within 80ft. of the eastern side of Thorndon Quay.' 2. To permit the erection of temporary buildings on the lands on which the erection of buildings is so prohibited. MOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at ■ L>i a Special Meeting of the Wellington City Council, held on THURSDAY, JULY 7, 1927. the, following resolution was passed: Tho Wellington City Council in pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Municipal Corporations Act, 1920, and all other powers enabling it in that behalf doth hereby resolve by way of Special Order to accept surrender of Lease dated the Gtb day of May, 1914, made between the -Mayor, Councillors, and Citizens of the City of Wellington, of the one part, aud Johnston and Company Limited, of the other part, of Sectidn 78 Lambton Reclamation and to grant to the surrenderor the said Johnston nnd Company Limited, a new lease for the term of one calendar month, subject to the following provisions: 1 The new lease shall contain provisions for renewal for successive periods of twenty-one years in perpetuity at a ground rent to be fixed by valuation. 2. The rental for tho term of tho new lease and for tho first renewal shall be Three hundred aud nine-nine pounds (£399) per annum. 3. The new lease shall contain all usual covenants contained in new leases granted by tho Corporation in the same locality aud shall be settled by the City Solicitor. 4 The cost of preparation of tho new lease and of this Special .Order shall be parable by the surrenderor. (b) To prescribe the conditions under which nnd the manner in which such licenses are to be obtained, held and cancelled. (c) To nrescribe fees for the issue of such licenses.
