WAR PENSIONS

* GREAT COST TO BRITAIN Rugby, July 26. The cost of war pensions and their administration during the current year will amount to 161,442,000, being the largest single vote of any public Department which comes before Parliament. This brings the total expenditure of the nation on war pensions since 1914 to 1786,000,000, which is greater by nearly 20 per cent, than the whole national debt as it stood at the outbreak of war. —British Official Wireless.
