CITY RESERVES

ADDITIONS TO PLAY AREAS When the works which are now proceeding on city reserves are completed, which will be towards the end of the winter season, a greater number of playing areas for football and other qames will have been made this year than in any previous five years in the record of the city. Nairnville Park will provide two additional football grounds, Western Park at least one more, and the sandhills at Rongotai eight to ten more, while another park which the Citv Council . has in contemplation will provide a further one. The children’s plav area at Grant Road will supplement the provision which lias been made for the juvenile population, and one or two others are to be provided during the present winter and equipped from the funds provided bv Mr. G. Shirtcliffe. The works on all reserves are making excellent progress.
