FATAL ACCIDENT

COMPENSATION AWARDED. Injuries which proved fatal wire sustained by Leslie John Dalton when some heavy scales fell on one of his feet while working for the New Zealand Express Company in February last. On Saturday, in the Arbitration Court, deceased’s mother, .Sarah Dalton, of Upper Hutt, claimed £175 compensation, together with £29 medical and general expenses, and any other relief tuaf the Court might grant. . The facts of the case were not in dispute the Court being asked to determine the degree of plaintiff’s dependency. After hearing evidence, the Court awarded £75 ns compensation, together witji hospital and funeral expenses.
