UNEMPLOYMENT
DUNEDIN CITY TO RAISE LOAN. — Dunedin, June 18. A special meeting of . the City Council thw morning decided to raise temporary finance to cover the £5OOO loan for relief works for the unemployed. It was to pay 12s. per day to married and 9s to single men. The financing of the relief -works will mean an increase of One penny in the' pound on the rates for next year. Eighty urgent cases' will start work on Monday.
