GREAT INCREASE IN NUMBERS SHOWN IN INCOME TAX FIGURES By Telegraph—Press Association. Copyright. (Rec. April 4, 7.30 p.m.) Washington, April 4. The income tax figures 1 for 1925, which have been published, show that 207 individuals in the United States are of the millionaire income class, which is the largest in the history of the country. The 1924 figures showed only 75, and the figures for 1926 showed 206. For 1921 the returns showed only 21, the lowest since the war. The total income taxes collected for the first nine months of the present fiscal year amounted approximately to 1650 million dollars, and the estimated total for the entire vear is 3426 millions. The income tax paid by 207 millionaires, with a reported total income of 422 million dollars, amounted to sixtysix million dollars. The largest income group is that of between four thousand and five thousand dollars, these totalling 1827 millions, on which five millions of income tax were paid.
