In the House of Commons, Mr. Baldwin announced that the Government was prepared to grant from the Roads Fund three-quarters of the cost of. reconstructing the existing Waterloo Bridge, as recommended by the Royal Commission on cross river traffic. The Government is inviting the London County Council and the Southern Railway to examine the proposal for a double-decker road and railway bridge at Charing Cross, and is prepared to contribute to it..
