DOMINION TOURNEY H. C. CLARKE SINGLES CHAMPION A. BROCKEBUSH AND M. WALKER WIN PAIRS BY TELSGBAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Auckland, January 22. The Dominion bowling tournament was concluded at Carlton green to-day with the playing of the remaining games in the pairs and singles championships. Results:— PATHS CHAMPIONSHIP. Final.—A. Brockebusli and M. Walker (Auckland), 22, v. Bell senior and Bell junior (Hamilton), 12. SINGLES CHAMPIONSHIP. Semi-Finals.—Bell junior (Hamilton) 17,v. Smellie (Green Island, Dunedin), 16; 11. Clarke (Rocky Nook, Auckland) 17, v. Mclntyre (Hamilton), 7. Final. —Clarke 24, v. Bell 11. Walker, who won the singles championship in 1915. 1919. and 1923, added the honour of skipping the champion pairs, after good up-hill fighting in the early stages against Bell, who had his son as lead. Bell won the first two heads, getting three on each. _ nnd led seven to nothing after the third head. Walker opened his account with a single bn the fourth, adding another on the Ifth and sixth.. Walker turned the head twice on the seventh, nnd scored three, reducing Bell's lead to seven—six. A single to each followed. .Bell adding two on the tenth, when the board read. Hamilton 10, Auckland 7. Bell scored one on the eleventh, but Walker took the next three heads with one, two. and one. making the score eleven-all at the end of the fourteenth head. The next head was keenly contested. Brockebush pushed out Bell junior s shot bowl, and added a counter to lie two. However. Bell. sen., drew Um shot. Walker than disturbed the head to lie two. Bell touched one of Walkers woods near kitty, but on a measure Walker scored two. and took the lead for the first, time by 13 to 11.
