DANNEVIRKE ITEMS

St. John’s Anglican Church was today tlie scene of a quiet wedding, when Aliss Georgina Rose Milne, whose people reside near Gore, was married to Mr. Leonard Buxton Nicholls, second son oi Airs. C. J. Nicholls, of Dannevirke. The wedding was of wide local interest, the bride having held 'ho positron of Pluuket nurse in Dannevirke for the past .three years, and the numerous gifts received testified to the high esteem ami affection in which she was field. The bride’s, frock was of cinnamon georgette, flounced with guipure lace of the same shade, and a hat of the same shade was worn, whilp the bouquet was of henna-coloured African daisies. Miss Effie Milne attended her sister as bridesmaid, ■ her frock being of powder blue georgette, with which was worn a 1 white hat. Iler bouquet was of pink roses and carnations. Mr. A. Lancaster, ot Gisborne, assisted the bridegroom, and Mr. K. Miller gave away the bride, Rev. G. B. Stephenson officiating. After the ceremony the party of relatives and intimate friends ■mly were entertained io afternoon tea bv Mrs. Nicholls, and the newly-mar-ried couple left by car- for a. honeymoon trip before going to Gisborne, where they will have their home. The brides travelling dress was a navy ensemble suit, with hat to match. Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Rowbothara leil to-day for- their new home in Timaru, t 0 which town the former has been transferred as representative for A. S Paterson and Co.
