December 27, 8.30 p.m.) Paris, December 26. ““Figaro’s” special correspondent at Madrid interviewed King Alfonso, who said: “It is to the interest of France that Tangier should be Spanish. France knows well that all aggressive movements originate in Tangier. Abd el Krim is a case in point. Tangier, it left outside the Spanish . Protectorate, will continue to be a point of departure for rebellious movements against Spain and France. The great number of square kilometres of territory which 1 am ready to give France in return for other advantages is proof of my friendlv and abiding faith in France. Our interests are the same, in Morocco We must pacifv the entire zone as soon as possible, and to this end I hope we ma.v reach accord with Prance at the earliest possible date.”
