THE HIKITIA ARRIVES. The Wellington Harbour Boards new floating crane Hikitia arrived in tne stream at 3.40 a.m. yesterday from Greenock, via the Panama route. The vessel berthed later at the ,-reastwork near tlie Glasgow Wharf. Tlie Hikitia. which is a twin-screw vessel, sailed 'rom Greenock on September 29 and during the first two days encountered rough weather, which was followed ly ♦'ne conditions until arrival at St. Michael’s, Azores, on October 9. A day was spent in coaling, and the ship sailed again without delay. Fine weather »ontinjed until arrival at Colon on November 1. The Hikitia replenished her bunkers ngain, and resumed her voyage on November 2. the vessel negotiated Panama Oanal without delay. For the first »wo days rough weather prevailed, but conditions were fine again till arrival at Papeete on December 1. More coal was taken on board, and the ship sailed on December 2. Fine weather prevailed till nearing port, when strong south-westerly winds were encountered. Captain J. G. Fullerton, who is m command of the Hikitia, has the following officers: —Chief, Mr. John Robertson; second, Mr. H. Georgeson; chief engineer, Mr. W. B. Fnglis; second, Mr. D. Robertson; third, Mr. P. Shand. The crew will be paid off to-day.

MISCELLANEOUS. The Komata is due at Wellington on Saturday from Westport. She will leave on Monday for the same port, to load for Wellington. The Totara will leave Wellington today for Lyttelton, and is due back here on Saturday. _ The Kamo will leave Wellington to-day for Napier. Gisborne, and Auckland. She will load at the northern port on December 30 for Nanier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The Katoa, from Bluff, via ports, is due at Wellington on Saturday. She will leave on Tuesday for Napier. Gisborne. and Auckland. The TTolmdale. due at Wellington today from southern ports, will go on to Wanganui. She is dve back on Friday, and w>B nroceed on to southern ports. The Tongariro is due at Wellington this morning from Timaru, and will berth at the King’s Wharf f or loading. She will proceed ~ from here back to Timaru. and is to return to Wellington, to sail finally on January 4 for London. The steamer Mernoo arrived at Wellington at 5.30 a.m. yesterday from Montreal. via Auckland, and berthed at the Thorndon breastwork to discharge part cargo.

She will now sail from the Taranaki port Jate to-night for Auckland, to complete discharge.
