BEAM SERVICE

BETWEEN AUSTRALIA AND CANADA NEARLY READY FOR TESTS (Rec. December 21, 8.5 p.m.) Ottawa, December 21. The beam tests between Australia and Canada are expected to commence early in 1927. The mast system and the aerials have already been erected at Drummondville, Yamachiche, while the receiver equipment for the station at Aaeso is ready. . The transmitter, which is being built in England should be shipped any day now, permitting the tests to be made two or three weeks later. It is understood that the EnglandAustralia beam service will probably be open to the public before the CanadaAustralia service is ready.
