UNEMPLOYMENT
Sir.—How long are our Government, our education boards, and our employers going to allow married women, whose husbands are earning big wages, to hold good positions, and in this way keep liniuli-i'ds of mi'ii ami single women out of employment? In some ease-’ both husband ami wife ar- employed by the same Department, or bv tho same employer, each earning quite enough to run a. home on. while instead of bringing up families they are depending on importations of aliens, or. in tact, anyone at all to keep up our population. No married woman, who does not require it, should tie employed by Government or bv anv private employer, as long as there lire unemployed in the Dominion. I know our Labour friends would be ri-’ht up ngiiiii'l -m’h a proposition but Mirelv some of our statesman nr- aware of tlie seriousness of affairs.—l am. • FREE LABOUR. Ohakune, December 9, 1926.
