LINESMEN'S WAGES

A SLIGHT INCREASE AGREED TO. On the recommendation of the Tram, ways and Power Station Committee, the City Council agreed last evening to approval being given to the proposed industrial agreement covering linesmen and assistant linesmen, and that the seal of the corporation be affixed to same. (The proposed agreement provides for an increase of from 2s. 13d. to 2s. 2d. per bour for linesmen, and for an increase of from Is. 113 d. to 2s. per hour for assistant linesmen.) “The above increase will bring the corporation employees into lino with the recent award of the Arbitration Court in connection with the rate of pay for linesmen employed by the Auckland Power Board.
