MR. L. McILVRIDE SECRETARY. . Mr. L. Mcllvride’s return as general secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, in succession to Mr. M. J. Mack, who has retired on superannuation, after nineteen years’ service, is the feature of the society’s election results, the computation of which was ’completed yesterday. Members of the service also elected a national executive council of eight members and sixteen conference delegates.' The newlyelected secretary was Labour member for Napier in the last Parliament, but lost his seat to Air. J. Mason (Government) at the general election. A boilermaker at the Hastings workshops, Air. Mcllvride 1 was allowed to return, to his situation after his defeat. The executive council was elected «s follows: North Island.—Messrs. J. Doig, J. Elliott. J. Churchouse, and J. Izard. South Island —Alessrs. S. Schofield. A. Morison. E. J. Dash, and E. C. Fraser. The following conference delegates were elected: Northern district of the North Island—Alessrs. S. Keen. J. Elliott, P. Gavin and J. Izard. Southern district of the North Island—Messrs. J. Bell, J. J. Scoff. J. Churchouse, and J. J. Bassett. Northern district of the South Island— Afessrs. S. Schofield. J. W. Toomey. E. J. Dashand. E. E. Clemens. Southern district of the South Island—Alessrs. AL Connellv. A. J. Morison, J. C. Thomson, and E.‘C. Fraser. The biennial conference of the A.S.R.b. will commence on February 8 next.
