ACTRESS BURNT TO DEATH (Rec. December 12, 5.5 p.m.) Rome, December 10. Four actresses were burned to death at .the Apollo Music Hall. The fire, due to a short circuit, started on the stage at the height of a performance, . and within a' few seconds the entire hall was ablaze. The audience succeeded in escaping by various exits. The ..roar of the flames and the screams 'of women were heard in the adjoining Elisio Theatre, where .the. audience of 1000 became paicLstricken, and stampeded. They were quickly reassured that there was no danger, and marched from the theatre , to the tune of the Royal March. The actresses, one of whom was a German, had left the stage, and were trapped in their dressing rooms.
