Victoria has . six wickets down for 265 runs (Ponsford-178, Hendry, 30, Mitchell 32), The weather was fine but dull, and the wicket good. Ponsford played attractive, aggressive cricket, and runs came quickly before luncheon After the interval the batsmen treated the bowling with great respect, and the rate of scoring was much slower.
