Mrs. Eliott-Lynn, the air-woman whose intention .of leaving the world of aviation has caused discussion, said recently, at a meeting under the auspices of the National Ccuncil of Women at Church House, Westminster, that the first point about aviation was its safetv, says the “Westminster Gazette.” “In London 24 deaths occur weekly from motor accidents alone, she said. In British civil aviation only seven deaths have occurred in five year?. Vou must not confuse civil with military aviation', because in military aviation men have to practice the art's of warfare. “The second point is the ease of living. It is easier to flv an aeroplane than to drive a car. In a car there are at least three levers, several dials, and three pedals to look after, but in an aeroplane there are one rudder bar, one lever, and a couple of dials, and nothing else Many of our cross-Channel pilots take a book with them and read.
