SANDERS CUP

THIRD TRIAL NOT HELD. Owing to the very stiff breeze which prevailed last evening the trial race which was to have taken place between the three 14-foot yachts which are competing for the honour of representing Wellington in the forthcoming Sanders Cup contest was not held. The selectors were of the opinion that conditions were not favourable, and suggested to the skippers of the three boats, Peggy, Wellesley, and All Black, that it would be better if the event were not held. This suggestion met with the unanimous approval of the skippers, and the contest was accordingly abandoned. The next trial is to be held On Monday evening. ■
