RANGITIKEI ITEMS
Marton, October 27. The cricket season was opened in Rangitikei on Saturday, when the Porewa Club met the newly-formed Colts Club. A good game resulted in a win for the latter. Friendly matches were played on Labour Day between Hunterville and Colts, and between Broadway and Marton. The former resulted in a draw, while Marton _ accounted for Broadway by an innings and 62 runs. Mr. B. Cochran, who has been manager of the Marton branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Distributing Co. Ltd. for the last 8| years, has resigned his position, _ having accepted an appointment with a large mercantile firm in the South Island. . On Monday a strong Taihape tennis team visited Hunterville, and after an all-dav match they were defeated bv 13 sets (160 games) to 11 sets (145 games). . ~ f On October 12, at the residence of the bride’s parents, MRarlston,” Hunterville, Acmes 8., elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. Chisholm, was married to Alexander G. R.. eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. R. G. T Bla ’ T Athol,” Hunterville. The Rev. J. C. Mill officiated.
