SIR JAMES CARROLL
TO BE BURIED TN PRIVATE GROUND. BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION. Gisborne, October 27. Arrangements in connection with the funeral of the late Sir James Carroll are now being completed. Most of the native tribes on the eastern side of the North Island have sent delegations to express sympathy with- Ladv Carroll. To-morrow the ' Ngati Rangi tribe (Tauranga), Ngati Awa (Whakatane), Arawas (Rotorua), and Tuhoes (Urewera Countv) will arrive in Gisborne. Intimation has been received that various local bodies and public institutions will have representatives at the funeral. In accordance with Maori custom the Maori mourners will take up a position at the burial ground and await the arrival of the body. The order of the cortege has been tentatively arranged, pending the receipt of fuller, intimation from local bodies and institutions which intend to be represented. The place of interment, is private ground a few miles outside of Gisborne.
