GRAND OPERA HOUSE TO-NIGHT
INTERNATIONAL VAUDEVILLE AND BEAUTY PAGEANT.
A record attendance is anticipated at the Grand Opera House to-night, when New Zealand Entertainers, Ltd., will present their twelfth company of International Vaudeville stars. The “Miss Wellington” finalists will appear on the stage to-night and following nights for the final voting by the audiences. Lively interest is aroused in thia section. Miss Canterbury and Miss Otago , with their maids Of honour, will also take part in the beauty parade. The vaudevi.,e headliners, include such names as Salerno, King of Jugglers, who holds his own throughout the world for magical tricks. Thrilling and sensational is the description applied to Professor Horace Sierak’s great mystery act, Leah, Maid o’ Mist," which is inexplicable and bewildering. Hilarity is the keynote of the Two Monroes’ act. their Weary Willie" stunt on trampoline wires being regarded as one long riot of tun. Ben Osborne and Nellie Perryer ? Cockney act full of humour, in which n motor-car plays a strong nart. Other artWs are Miss Hilda, Nelson, who comes with a Gilbert and Sullivan reputation; Arthur Pond. Engb'h comedian of unconventional type: Brian Lawrence. a young balladist witha fine baritone voice; Ngaire and . TointOn who make music out of mirth; anti Phyllis Du Barry, a charming young dancer ’•’lm box pinna are at the Bristol, where big booking is procee-.ing. n.,,. . are at the Grand Opera House Confectionery from 10 a.m. today.
