J. GOSS BEATS H. L. BLACK. Dominion Special. Wanganui, October 27. The Seafield amateur golf championship was played this afternoon between J. Goss (Wanganui) and H. L Black (Hutt). The first hole was halved m Us. Black won the second in 4to 5. Goss won. the next in 5 to 6, Black the next with a 4 and the fifth in 5, leaving him 1 up. Goss got in a ditch at the sixth with bis second, Black taking the holo. Black. 2 up. The short seventh was halved in 3. Goss won the eighth with a bogey 4. The ninth was halved in s’s and the tenth in bogey s's. The eleventh was halved in bogey Us. Goss won the twelfth in bogey 3. . At the thirteenth Goss drove into The Quarries.” picking out with a penalty of 1 stroke. Black also played badly and the hole was- halved in 6. Both played good firsts and seconds at the fourteenth, the hole being halved in 5. At the short hole Goss took three putts nnd lost the hole. Black, 1 up. Playinir at the twentieth, both again drove well. Goss’s second found him 2vds. from the edge of the green. Black smothered his second. Go«s chipped on to the green and holed his putt for a 4, taking the match nt the twentieth.

The- final game for the Springvale Cup between J. Aldred ami T. Howie was won bv the Aucklander. Aldred, by 3 up and 1 to play.
