'AUCKLAND BUSES
COUNCIL TAKES OVER. Dominion Special. Auckland, October 27. The first step toward assuming control of all pasdenger transport within ■the tramway area was taken by the Auckland City Council to-day, when the services formerly controlled by the Royal Motor-bus Company were administered by the tramways department. At rush periods the company’s buses were used to cope with the extra traffic, and the whole operation worked without a hitch. The remainder of the buses plying on tram routes will be taken over on Monday next.
