AUTOMOBILE CLUB

The annual meeting of the Wellington Automobile Chib was held last night. Air. F. AV. .Manton presiding in the unavoidable absence of Sir Joseph Ward. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follow President. Sir Joseph Ward; committee, Messrs. A. J. Curtis. If. W. Manton, 11. Wx Lawrence, A. Jb. Warburton. F. -Holdsworth, I. V. AVilson. A. .1. Toogood, H. AV. Shortt, Dr. Robertson, and Captain Blayney. A motion by Mr. R. L. Jones, that the shrubs obstructing the view- of motorists at the south end of Kent Terrace be either removed or trimmed so as to safeguard pedestrians from cars entering Cambridge Terrace, was carried as a recommendation to the City Council. At the conclusion of the meeting, two interesting films, “Play Safe” and the “Treatment of Tires,” lent by the North Island Motor Union, were screened.
