After being in the throes of a heat wave for the past four days, Sydney suffered wintry conditions yesterday, the low temperature being accompanied by heavy rain. Janet Jenkinson and Iter husband, charged at London with cruelty to their three children, who were imprisoned for three days in a small bedroom, with' a small supply of food, were sentenced to nine months’ hard labour each.
