SUNDAY SCHOOL ANNIVERSARY
VIVIAN STREET CHURCH OF CHRIST. Large congregations tnd bright Fervices characterised the telebration of the Bible school anniversary at the Vivian Street Church *of Christ last Sunday. The church was decorated for the occasion with festoons of lycopodium and lilies, which, together with coloured lights -in the evening, made a fine getting for the assembled scholars. The rows of girls all dressed in white made a particularly pleasing spectacle. Special services were held morning, afternoon, and evening. The afternoon session was devoted to the kindergarten department, which, under the direction of Miss Oldfield, rendered several solos and choruses, in a most creditable manner. Mrs. W. G. Carpenter, superintendent of the cradle roll, explained the objects of this roll, and presented a certificate to each of the infants whose names appeared thereon. A number of pupils of the kindergarten who had reached the age for transfer into the main school, were presented with Bibles to mark the occasion. In the evening the minister. Mr. W. G. Carpenter, gave an address to the children, illustrated by lighted candles by means of which he impressed upon them the necessity of making Christ the master of their lives while they were still j r ourg. Under the conductorship of Mr. W. J. Mason, the Sunday school scholars, at all services, assisted by an orchestra of ten players, rendered solos and two-part choruses.
