A LABOUR PROTEST. f (Rec. October 17, 5.5 p.m.) London, October 16. The concluding session of the Labour onference debated Ca resolution protesting against the Ministry of Health’s scale for poor relief, which was declared to be inadequate Miss Susan Lawrence, in moving the resolution, said that thousands of miners were denied any relief, and other families had only 5s a week She declared that the object of this was to make the miners and other unemployed men so miserable that thev would be willing to accept any wages Mr. Neville Chamber lain (Minister of Health)- was freely abused, such nicknames as “Tinpot Mussolini,” "King of Baby Killers.” and “Minister of Death” being used'
