MISS NEW ZEALAND BEAUTY CONTEST JUDGING STILL PROGRESSING In Christchurch and Dunedin they are very busy voting for their candidates. In the former city they are well ahead. Would you like to know who is leading there? Yes? Well, Miss R. Jacobs is leading, Miss M. E. Pycroft is second, Miss F. Mann is third and Miss J. Kinsey fourth. Of course the voting may fluctuate, but the four named were leading in Christchurch at e end of yesterday’s count. Here in Wellington all we can say is that the judges are busy. We had expected to announce the twelve Wellington finalists next Monday, but this may not prove possible. It may be a day later or two days even. This, however, does not affect your voting. Keep your coupons—that is all. THE PRIZES The list of prizes in the Miss New Zealand Beauty Contest continues to mount up. Here are some of them: £650 cash. Other prizes to go to Miss New Zealand are an £lB/10/camera presented by Kodak Ltd.; a dozen Kayser silk hosiery, from James Smith Ltd.; one dozen Sylk-Arto and one dozen Duo-Arto hose from Bonds; Dustin's offer a handsome wedding cake; a special Piver’s caskeb of perfumes, etc. Miss Wellington will receive a handsome equipped travelling bag from Land's Bag Shop; a special handsome Piver casket of perfumes etc., from Piver’s Ltd. Each of the twelve finalists selected by the judges in the Wellington Province will receive from Messrs. Cadbury and Frys Ltd., a guinea box of the firm's chocolates. The Standard Supply Company will give to the third and fourth competitors in the Wellington contest a cordelier set, containing gold filled genuine Wahl Eversharp Pencil. Messrs. Lever Brothers will give a collection of Olva and other toilet products to any Petone competitor securing the highest place in the final twelve. Mr. Brickman will dress the hair of the four Wellington finalists for their appearance before the judges and if desired give a permanent wave to Miss New Zealand. Sydal Ltd. offer a special Sydal Outfit. Messrs. Trathen and Co;, Nelson, offer a prize of £5/5/- to the leading Nelson competitor who gains a place in the final twelve. Mr. Cimino, Palmerston North, will give a gold watch to the competitor residing within 25 miles of Palmerston North who secures the highest number of votes in the final twelve. The Todd Motor Company have placed at the disposal of the . four Wellington finalists during their stay in Wellington, two of their fine Chrysler cars to transport them to and from their engagements.
