During the progress of a Rugby football match at Eastbourne on the King's Birthday, an Eastbourne player had the misfortune to sustain a broken leg. The members of the olub at once set to work to organise financial relief for ‘heir stricken olub mate. The balance-sheet of their completed efforts was submitted to the Management Committee of iho Wellington Rugby Union last night, and disclosed that U 374 had been raised, ffir the injured player, besides .£24 for medical and hospital expenses, which had been paid. The chairman (Mr. J. Prendeville) remarked that the result was wonderful, and showed what clubs could do.
