In the Szechwan Province the situation is daily becoming more critical The evacuation of foreigners from Cheug-tu has commenced, and women and children are leaving. A warning has been issued bv the Chungking authorities to foreigners not to proceed up river beyond Tchang owing to a fresh outburst of ftnti-for* eign feeling.
