4__. MEETING AT BROADLANDS HUGE AMOUNT OF CAPITAL REPRESENTED (Rec. October 11, 5.5 p.m.) London, October 11. ‘Capital totalling ten thousand millions sterling, of which 4700 millions was British money, met at Broadlands yesterday. The actual decision of the conference was to appoint a standing committee representing German and British industrialists, in equal proportions, in order to pursue an investigation regarding the prospects of mutual assistance in re-establishjng prosperous industry in Europe and in augmenting opportunities for profitable employment. Details of the conversations are secret, but it is understood that a hopeful, wholesome industrial understanding was revealed. An absolute deniel is issued that international trusts will be formed as the outcome of the conference. The British chairman of the standing committee is Sir Robert Horne. The German is Dr. Duisberg.
