Expenditure 333,090,000 Revenue 322,260,000 Deficit 61,721,000 There is, however, a probability that the deficit will be reduced materially before the end of the year, as last quarter’s receipts displayed a remarkable recovery, being £67.1,000 above those for t ie corresponding quarter of 1925, as compared with a decrease ot £22,340,000 in receipts for the first quarter this year. Income tax payments decreased by £15.605.000. Three million fewer savings certificates were sold and nearly one iqilliotr were 'repaid.
