RHONE DISASTER

DUE TO GLACIER POCKET BURSTING NO LOSS OF LIFE (Rec. September 29, 5.5 p.m.) Geneva, September 28. The Rhone disaster was due to a glacier pocket bursting a week ago. The debris blocked the ordinary bed of the Rhone. Though the. disaster is one of the greatest in the history of Switzerland, apparently not a life was lost. The Simplon route will not be reopened for many weeks.
