<£lo FIN'S FOR ADULTERATION. Bt Tzlhgrajph —Pluisa Association Hastings, September 29. This morning. George Hagen, a milk vendor, was charged with selling milk containing 12 per cent, of added water. It was shown that when he was selling milk from his own cows the supply was all right, but when his cows were turned out and he bought the supply from another farmer, tho milk was adulterated. ' The Magistrate said that defendant’s duty was to satisfy himself that the milk was up to standard. But for the circumstances he would have fined him £2O or £3O, but in view of the facts he inflicted a fine of £lO and - costs.
