PRIZES FOR STOCK
DONATIONS TO LEVIN SHOW Dominion Special. Levin, September 29. A number of new trophies have been donated to the Horowhenua A. and P. Association for the 1927 show, advice in this connection being received by the general committee at its last meeting. The following is the list of trophies:—A silver cup by Mr. C. Sherwood, value seven guineas, to be included among the prizes for winning entries in the dog show; a gold medal by the New Zealand Friesian Cattle Association for the exhibitor gaining the most points in pedigree. Friesian classes, with the proviso that there shall be twenty or more animals entered; two prizes, each of £2 10s., by the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Friesian Cattle Association for the best heifer and bull calves respectively; two silver cups, value ten guineas each, by the Manawatu-Oroua branch of the New Zealand Pig-breeders’ Association, for the competitors whose animals secure the highest aggregate points in the Berkshire rind Tamwortli pedigree sections in cadi of the Manawatu, Horowhenua, Feilding', and Marton shows during the 1926-27 season; special cash prizes, totalling £7 10s., by the Horowhenua Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association, subsidised £1 for £1 by the parent body, for the Jersey cattle section. Tn order to stimulate the number of • entries in the sheep dog trials division, the 'meeting decided that endeavours be made to have, the animal belonging to Miss Long which won the 100-gninca gold cup and other prizes at Matnron, to be entered in the forthcoming show at Levin.
