TAXATION

The following remit, approved by the Chamber of Commerce at its meeting last night, will be discussed at the conference of associated chambers to be held in Wellington in November next:— “That this conference expresses general anproval of the unanimous recommendations of the Taxation Commission, and views with satisfaction the assurance of the Prime Minister, as expressed in Parliament. that the recommendations made as to the methods of taxation are to be dealt with as soon as the Government has received and considered Hie detailed statistical information now being collected.”
