POWER BOARD SPENDING
COMMITTEE CHAIRMAN RESIGNS AS PROTEST. BY Telegraph.—Press association Dunedin, September 22. Alleging that the Otago Electric Power Board was inordinately extravagant in its expenditure, Mr. W. B. Galloway tendered his resignation as chairman of the Finance Committee at the monthly meeting yesterday. Mr. Gallaway said if they did not economise there would be an increased rate next vear. They were spending too quickly their £200,000 loan.
