THE EXPORT BOUNTY NEW ZEALAND'S THREAT OF DUMPING DUTY Sydney, August 17. The annual report presented by the Federal Viticultural Council of Australia, referring to the export pf Australian wine to New Zealand, says that the Commonwealth Wine Export Bounty Act had a detrimental effect on the wine industry in New Zealand. The New Zealand Government threatened to impose a dumping duty unless the pavment of the bounty ceased. The Viticultural Council. agreed that the bounty on sweet wines exported to New Zealand should be discontinued, one condition being that the bederal Government should allow a refund of Is. 6d. of the excise duty paid on all fortified wine complying with the provisions of the Wine Export Bounty Act and exported to New Zealand.—Press Assn.
