CANOPUS IN HEAVY GALE
By Telegbaph.—Pbess association, Auckland, July 13. The collier Canopus, which arrived hero from Westport this morning, encountered a heavy gale on Saturday. Large quantities of water were shipped, and the crew’s quarters were badly flooded. For the greater part of the day the speed was little more than one knot per hour. The barometer fell to 29.10
