July 12, 8.15 p.m.) New York, July 11. Archbishop Mannix addressed a meeting of 5000 people, held under the auspices of the American Association for the Recognition of the Irish Republic. Dr. Mannix and other speakers stressed that there was a movement jn Ireland against the Free State Government, declaring that complete Hidependcnce of the so-called Irish Republic was desired, but this should be sccuied bv constitutional means, instead of resorting to force. —Aus.-N.Z.
