BETWEEN AUSTRALIA AND BRITAIN COMMONWEALTH LINES REDUCTIONS By Telegraph.—Press Association copyright. London, July 11. The conference of steamship lines engaged in the Australian trade has announced general reductions in freight to Britain and the Continent from July 12.—Reuter. Sydney, July 12. The Oversea Shipowners’ Association has not yet received details of the reported reductions in freight rates, but the Commonwealth Line has announced substantial reductions. Frozen meat rates are reduced to |d. a lb. for beef, and l|d for lamb. Wool is reduced to l|d. for scoured and 1-J-d. for greasy; apples to 3s. Gd. a case; butter to 4s. a cwt, and general cargo to 635. a ton. —Press Assn. SAVING TO AUSTRALIA (Rec. July 12, 10.35 p.m.) Melbourne, July 12.
