UNEMPLOYMENT
COMMITTEE APPEALS FOR WORK i Palmerston North, July 12. Upon receiving at its meeting this morning a return to the effect that 95 married, men in Palmerston North arc urgently in need of employment, the unemployment committee viewed the situation with alarm, and it was decided to appeal to all residents and employers of labour to offer employment to men wherever possible. It was mentioned that the Mana-watu-Oroua Power Board, the Palmerston North Borough Council, and the Feilding Borough Council had placed men to the limit of 1 their respective capacities. . . ’ It is desired that nil applications be sent to the Palmerston North branch of the Labour Department.
